Accomplished artist Gyula Siska was born in Hungary. After finishing the Higher School for the Arts, he continued his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest studying painting and restoring. Siska continued to work in painting and the process of restoring; as a result of his work, he subsequently was employed as a restorer for five years and became an expert at restoration .His Expertise in Daguerreotypes and restorations is now known world-wide.
He was highly influenced by the masters of the 17th and 18th Century, especially 17th Century master Jan Davidsz de Heem (1606-1683).His photographic background and developed eye for detail is evident in his style. He began to be known for his still-life’s particularly his traditional flower compositions.
Siska's paintings have been exhibited in Hungary since 1985, and are now being seen and collected all over the world. When the Pope visited Budapest, Gyula Siska created extraordinary work of art together with a sculptor, circular copy of famous Turino Shroud was made in mixed media technique of bronze casting and photography.
