Born in Illinois, Kristine Starbuck's interest in art began at the young age of seven, when she began drawing the people and landscape of her surroundings. After moving to California in the 1960s, her interests took on a new importance in her life, and she now been painting the California landscape for years. As a plein air artist, her talent lies in her ability to capture the effects of sunlight and shadows in her paintings. Primarily an oil painter, Starbuck also works in watercolor and acrylics. Her works have won numerous awards and are owned by collectors in 28 countries and throughout the United States. Some of Starbuck's pieces have been displayed in the University of Chicago and in galleries in southern California.
